Antique ji-nashi shakuhachi 2.0 in C – Edo period

This collector ji-nashi shakuhachi unsigned (mumei) is aged around 150 years old (end of Edo or Meiji).
This shakuhachi hasn’t changed since it was made with a piece of rather thin madake bamboo with a beautiful patina due to its age. It was probably the instrument of a Komuso monk ( At least I’m pleased to have that in mind when playing !). The tone holes are rather small.
The tuning is in pitch (which is quite rare on the shakuhachi of that time), tone colour is clear and bright with a moderate volume. This shakuhachi gives a nice intimacy feeling when playing.
I kept this flute with me for a long time but it is time now to go to someone who would play it more than me !
