Shakuhachi master class in Figeac

This spring was the 11th master class of Shakuhachi leaded by Gunnar Jinmei Linder; it was a beautiful session.

On my proposal to invite all the usual group in my home town in Figeac, my will was to share with that group the nice quality of live we have here and with the local people to make them discover this music during 2 concerts.

The three days of workshop were as usual pretty intense (from 9 to 12 and 13:30 to 18 + evening concerts !) but delightfully surrounded by gorgeous meals prepared by friends and visits of the beautiful area of Figeac all of it under a shiny sun.

We were lucky to have with us Akari Sagara with her Koto coming from Paris.

On the Friday, 6 beginners discovered their first Min’yo songs and could prepare a 2 voices version of Sakura composed by Christophe Gaston.

The rest of the weekend was dedicated to advanced students. We studied the Sokyoku pieces (music for Koto) Aki no koto no ha and Rokudan and the Honkyoku Mukaiji reibo, Ashi no shirabe and Sokaku reibo (in its three voices version) all in the style of kinko Chikumeisha that we appreciate so much !
