This shakuhachi is the first 2.4 ji-ari I made as I was used to make my Ji-ari mostly from 1.6 to 2.1.
It took me a lot of time searching and experimenting on the bore design without any proper model to work with.
I finally came up recently with the well inspired final modifications in some crucial points of the bore and the voice suddenly found its fullness and resonance on all notes !
The bamboo is a Kyushu madake harvested in 2019 with a nice darkened root.
The tone of this ji-ari shakuhachi is plain, velvety and warm; it is very resonant and responsive; a good player in all registers able to admit big amount of breath.
The holes are inline so it is playable either for left or right hand positions.
