Tom Deaver ji-ari shakuhachi 1.8 in D restored by Chikudo

This beautiful ji-ari shakuhachi made by renowned maker Tom Deaver in the mid-70s; it is an advanced level (the professional level has another hanko signature).
This flute presented a big crack on the upper part repaired and secured with bindings.
The bore has some cracks in the urushi lacquer without any harmful effects on the sound; I prefered to let it like this rather than completely sand and re-lacquer the bore which might have affected the sound.
This shakuhachi is very versatile with a clear, straight and powerful sound with quick response well suited for both honkyoku and sankyoku.
