Tis Chokan (long) ji-nashi shakuhachi is made from a nice piece of dried spotted Gomadake harvested in Kyushu exactly one year ago !
Despite its size, it is has an easy and smooth playing both in hands (right handed off-line holes) and embouchure and gives a warm deep and stable tone with a good balance and rich tone color.
There was a hole and small crack on the back side of embouchure that I filled with bamboo dust and wood glue and secured with a strong binding covered with urushi (see pictures).
